Abstract

The growth of global migration makes immigration issues more and more important. Migration is a social phenomenon that characterizes the state of the modern world order. Despite the fact that the desire to migrate is human and has been observed several times in the long history of mankind, the unprecedented scale of modern migration flows is surprising. Globalization of the world economy and geopolitical instability in some regions of the world are causing a large-scale increase in the impact of migration processes on society and countries. The result of the policy of the European Union has reliably shown that the use of foreign labor can be an important factor of economic development. The flow of foreign migrants makes it possible to compensate for the decrease in the population of working age, thereby ensuring the replenishment of social support funds. The policy of attracting highly qualified personnel and creative youth implemented in the European Union at the national and regional level serves the growth of human capital. In addition, if a successful migration policy is implemented, the negative consequences of economic crises can be mitigated. At the same time, we can see that migration is sometimes characterized by causing various socio-economic and cultural problems and undermining the security sphere. The article examines the importance of the migration policy of the European Union to the CIS countries, what is the migration policy of these countries, their role in the migration process, and where is the main area where the population of these countries migrate and the reasons for this.
