EXPRESSION OF PETASE ENZYME IN ESCHERICHIA COLI BACTERIA FOR EFFICIENT DEGRADATION OF POLYETHYLENE
Abstract
Plastic pollution, primarily associated with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastics, has become a major global environmental crisis. Ideonella sakaiensis strain 201-F6 is the most effective solution to degrade PET. In this article, we described the results of studies on cloning the FAST-PETase enzyme with thermostable mutations and its expression in E.coli bacteria, purifying the protein by nickel chelate chromatography, and determining the enzyme activity. The study results showed that the active FASTPETase enzyme was effectively purified
